Natural Laundry Soap

Saturday, March 1, 2008

Hi, and welcome to the first edition of the NaturalLaundrySoap.net blog! I’m Greg Michaels and my wife Jan & I have high hopes for this “new” product and the many benefits it can provide to the American public. Like any new idea though we realize that inertia is a powerful force and that it will take intelligently directed effort and patience for our message to gain critical mass in the marketplace.

Doing the laundry is one of the first chores we’re allowed to help mom & dad with as children. Learning at the side of your loved primary care giver is powerful. Most of our habits – good and bad – are learned this way. We develop opinions and attitudes from our parents without them even saying a word. Most of the time, learning basic things this way is a good thing. We don’t have to figure out how to perform every mundane task from scratch.

I’m not foolish enough to tell you that one of the habits your mom or dad passed to you is ecologically dangerous. I know how far that would get me. I love my mom too and beginning a conversation by making your conversation partner defensive and hostile is hardly the path to shared understanding. We as adults and parents use the best and most current information possible in making decisions for our household. That’s what they did too, only now we’ve come to have new information.

The laundry detergent our parents – and most of us – use has lots of bad chemicals in it. Many of them are enumerated on the homepage of the website www.NaturalLaundrySoap.net and I won’t repeat them here. Suffice it to say that these chemicals are bad for both the earth and humans. Even after the rinse cycle, the residue of many toxic chemicals may be left in your clothes. This is a potential health hazard because your skin can absorb these chemicals into the bloodstream, or they may evaporate into the air and be breathed in by your family.

Sometimes the best answer to contemporary problems is to go “back to the future” and that’s exactly where we found the solution. This is where our journey to shared understanding may require the same small leap of faith my family successfully made. If we can do it, you can do it. I use the phrase “leap of faith” because it seems too easy to be true. The product – Sapindus Mukorossi – the variety of North Indian Soapnuts that we import have been used for centuries to clean laundry. All you do is put a small handful of the soapnuts in the cotton drawstring bag we provide and throw it in your washing machine with your laundry. The results, and this product, are amazing. Your laundry will not only come out clean, but very soft , I think that’s what impressed me the most. Just like with your current detergent, stubborn stains may need additional treatment. We’ve suggested a few green ways to treat stains in the website, or you certainly have the option to treat stains the way you do now.

Soapnuts clean your laundry as well as you current chemical detergent, only without the chemicals. There’s really no choice, in my opinion. Soapnut trees grow in remote regions of India where, they, by their growth, reduce pollution. Soapnuts are gathered by the indigenous people, which helps their local economy, and shipped to us through a natural herb company based in India. Soapnuts could not be more natural or environmentally friendly.

In our efforts to create the critical mass I referenced earlier, and to promote trust and goodwill in the green community, we’ve devised two distinct “free” offers.

The first one is as free as we can make it and is a little untraditional. This one was devised because one of my pet peeves is free offers that add so much shipping and handling that you just know that the company is using the shipping as a profit center. There is no risk to the company even if you hate the product. They’ve already made a couple of bucks from your “free” sample. If you also feel this way, you’ll appreciate our Free Offer Number One as we’ve cleverly called it.

Free Offer Number One is designed to demonstrate goodwill on our part by sharing the risk with you. We will gladly risk providing a sample of the product to you at demonstrably no profit to us if you’ll risk the postage and the purchase of envelopes. Details are at http://www.naturallaundrysoap.net/natural-soap-sample

Free Offer Number Two is more traditional and also involves less work on your part.

Simply go to the secure server with your credit card and choose this option and we’ll make the sample show up at your door.

That’s it. This first post is admittedly commercial, but I felt it was necessary. Future posts

will be less so. Thanks for reading and considering.
